Saint Mary of the Assumption School
St. Mary of the Assumption School is a coeducational Catholic elementary school founded by I.H.M. Sisters in 1925, the greater Upper Marlboro area. This school is committed to the embodiment of the threefold educational mission of the Church: to teach the message of Jesus, to build Christian community, and to foster a concern for social justice. This is accomplished through an instructional program dedicated to academic excellence and a vibrant faith aimed at the development of the whole child.
Our school offers a rigorous curriculum in all the major subject areas: Religion, Math, Reading, Lang Arts, Social Studies, Science, Music, and Art. In addition, we offer Spanish and French and STEM. We enjoy a high level of excellence in Reading due to seven separate yet integrated support programs
